The Community Energy Centre (CEC) project houses equipment for the district energy system that supplies space and domestic hot water heating to the Southeast False Creek redevelopment area. Primarily the CEC will recover heat from effluent using heat pumps, this project will be the first use of this technology in North America with only three similar projects - two in Norway and one in Japan - currently in operation. The building is also designed to showcase and educate the public on the system employed in this building. The SEFC-CEC is targeting LEED(r) Canada NC Gold certification.
Recollective Consulting is engaged to provide LEED Project Management Services throughout the design and construction of the project.
