Dockside Green is a 1.3 million sq. ft. mixed-use sustainable community development in Victoria British Columbia. Situated on a 15-acre former brownfield site, Dockside is a spectacular example of how a City, committed green Developer, Design Team and Contractor can unite in an Integrated Design Process (IDP).
- Considered to be one of the most innovative green site-wide projects in Canada, the City of Victoria’s Master Development Agreement and the Design Guidelines for the Dockside Area were key factors in setting the project’s sustainability goals.
- The Design Guidelines combine the requirements of the Development Concept and the Response to Request for Expression of Interest submitted by Dockside Green Ltd. They form part of the Official Community Plan, and as such will guide future development for the entire Dockside Area.
- Dockside has received the CaGBC’s LEED certification at a Platinum level.
- Jack worked on energy modeling for LEED and BC Hydro’s High Performance Building Study Program for Dockside Side Phase R3 – Buildings 6B and 6C.
- The first two phases of Dockside Green are under construction with a third phase and the Waste Water Treatment Plan to start in 2007. Dockside is piloting the CaGBC’s Design & Construction Review process. As the pilot for the Design & Construction Review, Dockside is helping to shape the future of the CaGBC.
